Frequently asked questions

We often have questions asked by new mothers and even mothers on their second pregnancy.

How can I ensure my baby is feeding properly?

Each child is unique and so is a newborns feeding pattern. Most newborns will feed a few times during their first day. Once the first few days (the sleepy stage) are over, most babies will seem hungry most of the time. With the implementation of a breastfeeding routine you can ensure that your baby is receiving the efficient amount of nutrients that they require. It is also important to ensure your diet as the mother is appropriate for the child.

How much weight should I gain?

By the time you're ready to give birth, you will be certainly be carrying additional weight. The amount of weight gain will differ between women. Some people who become pregnant put on a lot of weight, where as other woman barely gain any weight at all. The most important part is to ensure that you are well nourished and are eating healthy amounts of healthy food.

Can I continue to exercise?

Exercising while pregnant is not only perfectly fine, it is highly recommended to keep up with the physical and mental changes you will go through while you are pregnant. Exercise will not only assist with your physical wellbeing, but also helps to get you heart pumping, keep your weight management under control and to prepare you for birth.

What tests will I need to do during pregnancy?

Taking good care of yourself during pregnancy is not only important, but vital to your baby's health. There are multiple test you may need to complete during your pregnancy, these tests are preformed to ensure there are as little complication as possible. Blood work and pressures are often monitored closely.
